Paired Comparison Analysis (Excel)
Description:
Use the paired comparison analysis when the details of a project are somewhat vague and you need help prioritizing the pieces.
Start by listing the tasks you are looking to prioritize. Then, assign them a letter. Compare each of them in a column and row. Two by two, assign them a number of importance. You should be able to see a clear prioritization of tasks.

Re: Paired Comparison Analysis (Excel)
Libby,
I recently found your Paired Comparison Analysis Chart, but found it rather time consuming when doing many rankings. I put together a simple automated spreadsheet to make things easier! Please feel free to place on Office Arrow if you feel it could be useful to others. Regards, Richard Manson |

Re: Paired Comparison Analysis (Excel)
Thanks for your comments Chrissy, I have an admission to make though, I am not an office professional! I am actually a mechanical engineer, who has to use various office applications in my job. I tend to just make these spreadsheets when I need them, but would be happy to share when I have something usefull to the community here.
Best Regards, Richard |

Re: Paired Comparison Analysis (Excel)
This is excellent. I am interested in using this with a group of people to prioritize a number of issues. Is there a way to have each person complete a worksheet and feed all their responses into a summarized group analysis?

With a larger number of participants, from a broader demographic, it should be possible to collect the data and collectively compare pairs based on ranking of the results for each individuals pair comparisons. Best Regards, Richard |
