Atlanta, Asheville -- Cashiers Leadership Retreat
We recently had a corporate leadership staff planning retreat at a fabulous place. Fox Hollow in Cashiers, North Carolina. North Carolina Mountain Vacation Rentals Cashiers North Carolina Mountain Vacation Cabin Rentals Before you even go any farther, be sure to take a look at the site! Don't take my word for it.
This home will handle more than 10 people if some people share a bed or sleep on the floor or sofas. However, it will easily handle 10 people each in individual beds. As our group grew, we did rent a second house -- women in one and men in the other with the working portion of each day occuring at Fox Hollow. Bernie Love, who owns this and other homes, does have other options also that will handle smaller and larger groups. I can't say enough about the quality, cleanliness and decor of Bernie's home -- so I'll not even try except to say you won't be disappointed. It is secluded; yet not to far from town. Each room is very spacious so no one feels crowded. The living area was very conducive to our group of 16 people as we worked each day. The porches, that all have lake views, really promote being together. My goal in renting this place was to provide a location that allowed our staff to be casual and relax in a beautiful atmosphere; provide a forum to promote working together as well as inclusion, be comfortable yet private; with amenities nearby. We got it all here. There is a country club nearby that offers golf, a fitness center, horseback riding, hiking, boating -- on and on! As it turns out, we were so comfortable, we went out only one evening -- even then we wish we'd stay in. This took some work on my part -- but thanks to Sam's or Costco -- no problem as I enjoy being hospitable and making our staff comfortable. The hardest part was loading and unloading my car -- with which I asked for help. Also, one person was helpful in the kitchen as most of the meal preparation was done by me. I handled it very easily with bulk foods from Sam's and plastic disposable plates. The staff really appreciated the "home" cooking! Of course, you could easily create teams to cook or have your meals catered. As the admin, I had the flexibility to step out as needed to prep. So, if you decide you might want to do the same thing, let me know and I'll be glad to pass along my suggestions for success and ease. But, most of all, know this is a great place and we look forward to the opportunity of going back. |
