My husband wants to start up a "handyman" business out of our home. We need to know the local laws and requirements for this and any tax deductions available. Does he need a license, what kind, and where to go to obtain it. He previously had his own business in Michigan doing plumbing and A/C work.

Starting a business is a fun but scary time. I definitely think you should have all of your ducks in a row. Check out the Small Business Administration site. They have local resources that should help you figure out what is required in your state. Good luck to you and your husband.
