“Casual Friday” at the office can benefit good causes as it boosts employee morale.

Jeans Day (Jeans Day. Workplace philanthropy: It's in your Jeans) will encourage office workers across the country to donate $5 every time their employer allows a “Casual Friday” or other dress-down day at work. Participating companies will direct those contributions to a different charitable group each month.

My old company tried this once but it became too frustrating. Everyone was mad that their company was charging them to wear comfortable clothes, so most people didn't. Plus, most felt that if they were going to donate, they would do it for other reasons, not because they were blackmailed with blue jeans.

Sometimes, employers should allow a little fun or casual days because they see how hard their employees work and they understand that they need a little break from the monotony.
