Cell Phone Tackiness
Ok, I need to know if this is just a South Florida thing or what. Is anyone else seeing a trend of people talking on their cell phones while in the rest room stalls? I'm not talking about "getting caught" by an unexpected call, I'm talking about initiating calls from this location.

Ew! Yes, I've encountered that before in Northern California...so it's not a Florida thing. But, in my humble opinion, that is just NOT appropriate behavior.

Agreed, it happens in Atlanta too. It's weird, but it makes me feel like I'm in the wrong if I flush while the other person is in the middle of conversation.

I have to admit that I have called from this location but I have only called my fiancee and it has only been when I needed to talk to him away from the group I am currently with. To call someone and start an actualy conversation not just to get quick answers is crazy.

while doing the deed is a little weird to think about...but if you need to be away from a public place and the restroom is the best spot..than what the heck, go for it!

Re: Cell Phone Tackiness
I read an article about cell phone etiquette and they listed this one as a no-no. The restroom (or "washroom" as it is called in Canada), is a private place and you are invading your neighbour's privacy if you do it. Your call may pick up flushing, tinkling, conversations at the sink etc. etc. that are private and potentially embarassing. The washroom is a place to do your "biological business", touch up your make-up and hair, wash your hands and get out. It is not a phone booth.

Another area the cell phone (espcially the camera cell phone) is not welcome is in a locker room of a gym or pool. I feel uncomfortable when I see someone with their cell. How do I know they are not taking pictures or a video of us in our undressed state and whether we will end up on some porn site or YouTube. I think they should be banned in locker rooms.

Completely inappropriate. And if I'm in the bathroom while you're on your cell phone, expect me to flush about 10X more than necessary. I really don't need someone on the other end of the phone listening to me pee.
