What team games have you seen played?
Often overlooked, ignored or accepted, we all observe behavioral games teams play. Call them what you will, but regardless of their name, they are unproductive in nature. They can best be described as the conversation after the conversation, the conversation with the person whom you are not suppose to have the conversation with and the conversation avoided. You’ve seen it, heard it and may have likely participated in it and it happens in all sorts of places and in all sorts of ways.
We have established a few names for some of the games we’ve observed, they are listed below. The outcomes of the games are, a majority of the time, not only unproductive, but often hurtful to the business to people and most definately to profit. In connecting with us through the blog, we’d like to know your take on the games you observe. Share with us what you’d call the game and maybe a short example. This is meant to be a fun topic, so please share your stories. If not from your current environment, how about from a past workplace. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. GAMES… Break Room Dialogue Silent Agreement Excuses, Excuses, Excuses Twisted Perception Paranoia Child’s Play - Acting Out I Can Be More Agressive than You I’m Always Right Stay on the Bubble - never make a decision Accountability - what is that? |

Quote:
I have played the only sport available to young Cape Bretoners, hockey, Goalie for 32 years I believe and have the missing teeth to prove it, you cannot eat one of those pucks but I found out the hard way, had all good gear, just lucky shot took all my headgear, back to same guy, same shot just as I was turning around to see where the puck went, the only time I woke up when they said they were cutting my goalie gear, had fit and my father told them he would undress me, thanks Dad, saved me thousands of dollars, I was only 17 and spent my 16th working to buy all this gear. Play floor hockey, Squash, golf, coin collecting is my main hobby now. Scouts, camping, all gone except coin collecting, ex-military and even if the Canadians don't get into the "USA" ones we still play hard and train hard, two compression fractures, shot once, whole left cage and part of lung in pieces but retired and sitting around in pain until a new coin comes in or someone comes to talk IT (Do you know how many they are in Cape Breton - not as much as you think...lol) Fish, Lobster, Coal, don't need a degree for them.
