What's Your Biggest Career Accomplishment?
Today has been a big day for me...As a lot of you know, I started a website called The Executive Assistant's Toolbox and today, I introduced all of my loyal readers (many of whom have become great friends) to OfficeArrow.

My life has changed quite a bit sense joining the OfficeArrow team. I can definitely say that this has been the biggest and best accomplishment of my career. Sometimes, I'm completely overwhelmed by my good fortune! Of course, I know that work is still work. And this will have challenging moments, I'm sure. But I'm doing something that feels amazing - something I love. And yes, I'm very proud.

I'm just curious what your biggest career accomplishment has been? When you look at your career from beginning to end, what is your proudest moment?

Please share!

Honestly, I don't think I have one. Not screaming at these people every day? That feels like an accomplishment.

Re: What's Your Biggest Career Accomplishment?
In January of this year, I left my previous employer. We had some very different ideas on a lot of things, and it was the best decision for me, though one of the hardest I've ever made. While working for him, I discovered I had some measure of talent in the graphic design field, and was encouraged by friends to try and turn that talent into work.

Well, in March, I secured my first paying cient for Refekt Design, which has led to two more prospective clients. I'm not sure how far I can take this, but the fact that I'm trying, and not doing too badly? Definitely my biggest accomplishment.

Starting my own business has been my favorite career accomplishment to date, so I guess it's also my biggest.

Being able to think my executive's thoughts before he does. Just kidding...sort of.

Right now I think it's finding my career that's my biggest career accomplisment. I was one of those lost career souls never knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up. I've "decided" I wanted to be a financial planner, a chef (yet I don't like cooking, hmmmmmmmmmmm), drama therapist, stage manager, entrepreneur, master's student, etc...

...and one day I realized, "HEY silly! You're doing what you love - Executive Assisting." That wasn't my title when I had this epiphany. It was event manager, but I was also assisting the President of the small company I worked at. So when I realized I wanted to be an Executive Assistant, I put all my focus on this and my career propelled forward. I love loving my profession. It's a beautiful thing.

I was able to learn how to buy and sell houses in about 6 months and then bought and sold over a million worth of real estate in about 1.5 years. Unfortunately the entire market has dried up so although it was by far my biggest accomplishment it makes me sad that I really can't buy/sell real estate like I used to.

I'm with sabrinafaire and galfriday - its the little things that make me feel like I've accomplished something. Whether its not strangling someone who is driving me crazy, handing something to my boss before she asks for it, or magically unjamming the copy machine, those are the things I remember at the end of the day.

Re: What's Your Biggest Career Accomplishment?
Hi, Im an old lurker at eatoolbox and recently decided to register here in office arrow. This site is very helpful. I was a small remittance company branch head for 3 years when ive decided to quit and become an EA. At first, i felt like was a glorified maid (sorry) and always afraid of my executive boss...but as time goes by..i am now learning to love my job and i am now in love with it! My boss gave me the chance to feel how is it being valued and he is trusting and seeking for my opinion....its overwhelming for me because I know my capabilities and strength and my weaknesses (average thinker) but my being honest that im not on top of everything he wants me to do works really best for me. Now i am in my 4th month of my probationary and I am looking forward to become an EA forever! thanks Chrissy for putting up a site like this.
