Too much just for a raise???
I know I've posed questions about asking for a raise, but I don't want go over the top or under the bridge when it comes time.

This is what I was thinking of presenting to my boss in order to ask for a raise. I must first say that this raise is merely bring my paycheck up to par with the work I do.

I was thinking of creating a report with the average pay for the multiple responsibilities I carry throughout the office. This would include what responsibilities I currently have and approximately how much time I spend for each. Then I would average the different amounts to what I would like to be earning.

I want her to know that what I'm worth and what I'm being paid are now not the same, but I don't want her to get the perception that I'm undermining her or demanding too much.

Would a report like this help me? I was thinking it might be a few pages if I did the whole thing, should I just give her a one-page review at first and have the details ready if she requests?

Or am I totally over doing it and just asking her for a raise and some reasons be fine?????? (I've never done this before...)

Re: Too much just for a raise???
Do you work in a corporation setting, a mid-size office, or for a self-employed person. Each of those settings will have an impact on what you want to do.

A corporate setting generally has policies and procedures in place and you follow their guidelines.

How long have you worked for this person?

Did you establish or discuss raises in your hiring interviews?

Have you taken any courses lately that have developed new skills?

Have you added more job duties to your routine?

All of these need to be into your considerations.
