Re: Hi there! New Member
Wow, if you are talking about a corporate motivation plan, this is a large and complicated topic which can be handled so many different ways. When Office Arrow covers this topic it will take an article that is sectioned into many parts. Usually a motivational plan depends heavily on corporate culture and will deal with issues such as measuring moral, reinforcing teamwork, recognition of people and teams, creating a fun workplace, cash and non-cash incentives, other awards, compensation (pay, equity sharing, etc.) as well as structured corporate and HR tactics (e.g., performance evaluation, bonus incentives...). Many other tactics can be considered.
If you are talking about individually, I am willing to share a few tactics I have used to help myself during times when it has been difficult to remain enthusiactic at work. Plan your day and stick to a schedule as much as possible - it is easier if you keep busy - your day goes by much quicker. If you have projects which you are not enthusiastic about try breaking them down into more managable phases and reward yourself when each phase is completed (this can be something as simple as a favourite chocolate or as expressive as new shoes or ...you choose). Concentrate on what you really like about your job and the people you work with and try not to dwell on the negative. Take time for your lunches and try to remove yourself from the workplace - take a walk, everyone needs a break and down-time. When you take a break don't do it alone, stop for a chat with a favourite colleague for a few moments and refresh/refocus. If you are in a difficult situation, don't be afraid to ask for help, you might be surprised who will step up to assist and partnering can be fun. Overwhelmed with work - if you are in the position to delegate, do so, it will lighten your load and give challenges to someone else. Sometimes just talking about things with a friend, partner or colleague has helped eleviate negative or down feelings and brings new light and energy helping me clarify situations. Heck, we sometimes even end up laughing about the situations. Also, I have found that setting personal goals helps define where you want/need to be. Following these goals and reviewing them from time to time can help in decision making and keep you motivated to move forward. Hope I'm on the right track and have helped! |
