On the move!
Hello! We are getting ready to make a very big move to SC. I have been with my current job for 7 years and I am not looking forward to starting over with a new job. However, this could be an excellent opportunity to try something new. I am an Administrative Secretary at an elementary school but there are currently no job openings in the school district where we will be moving to.

Advice, suggestions and comments are welcome.

Hope everyone had an awesome day!

Re: On the move!
Hmmm....Very interesting Lisa. I have a good friend (and fellow OA member) who is going through a similar situation. She's not moving but she's starting a new job. She's going to be sharing her experiences (ups and downs) here over the next couple of weeks. I think you'll get a lot out of reading about her transition.

A big move can be stressful but exciting at the same time. I just moved from California to Atlanta (though I was already working for OfficeArrow before the big move). It can be a struggle to get used to a new area. My one recommendation: get a GPS! I don't know what SC is like, but Atlanta is a nightmare! Don't waste time with maps...just get a GPS and then you're free to explore.

As for finding a job, check out this article and the discussion that follows. There are a lot of great ideas for finding work when relocating. Best of luck to you. Remember to focus on the excitement and NOT the anxiety Let us know how it goes along the way!
