Should you be given a meeting agenda before the meeting?

Should you be given a meeting agenda before the meeting?
Hi. I'm new here so hello to you all.

My sister has requested a meeting which has been agreed over issues with 2 students she had given work placements to. She set out all the points in letters sent to their college. She has received a reply that they would like a meeting in a couple of weeks time with all individuals invloved in attendance. A few questions.

1. Do the 2 students have to be in the meeting? (my sister would really rather they were not)

2. Prior to the meeting, should my sister be givin an agenda/order of minutes so she can digest and make points other than 'going in blind'

Hi Frantic1960,

Well...there's no rule that says the two students have to be in attendance, so it's really between all the parties involved as to whether or not they are included. It may better for those two to be there so that there is no miscommunication.

As for an agenda; I would highly suggest there be one. However, if your sister is the one requesting the meeting, she would need to provide that to the rest of the participants.
