KPI Resourcing Question
Hello Team

I am new to the website.
I create parts catalogs for a billion dollar corporation and was asked to come up with measurable KPI's for the company. Outside of the standard time tracking excel spreadsheets a person would use to record daily activities and time used, setting performance targets, goals and norms on a measureable platform has me confused.

Creating catalogs consists of image layout, populating a database with part numbers, desriptions, quatity per package and quantity per assembly and uploading the results to the web.

Dealer base customers can order service parts from the parts catalogs and send to cart. end of story.

Where does a person begin? any suggestions to help me get on the right path?
Greatly appreciate any guidance?
Thank You

Re: KPI Resourcing Question
Performance management is an industry these days...lots of information on the web about how to develop performance measures, too. Try googling performance management, and KPI.

But/meanwhile, here's a starter.... the quality of performance is in the eye of the customer, not in the producer or service provider. What do your customer's think is important? Ask them....don't guess. Let's say they come up with four things: accurate catalog information, competitive pricing, easy to navigate website, on-time delivery. First, ask them to rank those four things....which is MOST important. Next, ask them, on a scale of 1 (being wretched) and 10 (being ROCK STAR !), how is your company doing on those four items. You'll get customer feedback that will tell you what is most important, most satisfying, and least satisfying to them. Celebrate the MOST SATISFYING, and get to work improving the least satisfying.

Customer-orientation. Keep your eye on that.

Best, E.
