Hello from Wisconsin
Starting a new business Personal Assistant, challenge: small town. Any suggestions? Right now just doing the feasibility study and just needing to get started doing it, going there, getting it done...why is that seem like the hardest part? Perhaps I don't want to hear that it is not a service people would use...ugh... rejection...won't stop me though.

If you are a virtual assistant it doesn't matter how small your town is, you could work online for anyone, anywhere.

Re: Hello from Wisconsin
While I am still an executive assistant in a large insurance company, I've already researched and opened my virtual administrative business which I plan to operate part time for now. I felt it would be a natural swing from doing what I've done in the corporate world for more than thirty years to owning my own business and having an elective income to take into retirement by working virtually from wherever I land post corporate world. There are many blogs and associates devoted to the virtual admin industry. In addition, I do see the future signs of even the corporate world outsourcing administrative functions and felt it best to be on the cusp of this growing career field.

Re: Hello from Wisconsin
Can I ask how you got started? I think that is a wonderful idea, in fact, here in Wisconsin there is a woman who owns her own VA business, she actually runs it 24/7. Maybe something for me to investigate further. Thanks.

Re: Hello from Wisconsin
You may want to contact the lady you refer to in WI and see if she needs some "assistance". Just get started by googling "virtual administrative assistant" and you will find a wealth of information. Any new venture requires research, research, research and asking many questions. Since OfficeArrow is devoted to full time executive admins in the corporate world, I don't want to expand much more on the virtual field. Good luck and I know you won't be disappointed with the wealth of information you will turn up.
