It has been such a pleasure reading all of the entries in our recent Share the Love Contest. We asked, "What do you love the most about your job?" and from that simple question came a lot of well-thought out responses that warmed our hearts.

Although it's been difficult to determine just one winner, a big thank you goes out to all who participated and spread some cheer throughout our community. Congratulations to Vickey Levario (OA username: VLevario) of Tempe, AZ. Vickey will receive her choice of any product available on 1-800-FLOWERS.COM (up to $50 in value).

She writes:

"I work for CAAFA (Community Alliance Against Family Abuse) and serve as the Office Manager for our nonprofit organization, which provides a Safe Home, Crisis Line, support groups, empowerment sessions, legal advocacy and prevention and community outreach services in Arizona.

What's the best part of my job? It has been a real privilege and blessing for me to be able to meet and greet our local community members who work so tirelessly on our behalf. It would be so easy during our current economic challenges to become discouraged about what's happening out there, unless of course you have a local community that cares like ours does. However, every time someone walks through our doors, like the ladies from the Rock Shadows Crazy Quilters with homemade quilts for our women in the Safe Home, or the residents from the Shady Rest mobile home park who come by to drop off a box of donuts for staff...it warms your heart. A friend once told me...."your YOU warms me, like the sun" and I must say that our community warms me most...and that the best part of my job is not only working with our wonderful staff, but witnessing our wonderful community members like Soroptimist International of Apache Junction, who give so much of themselves to CAAFA and whose goal is to improve the lives of women and girls locally and globally through hands-on community projects, educational seminars, fund-raising and advocacy. It doesn't seem to matter that we're all struggling financially, somehow, our wonderful people who volunteer and donate, manage to find ways to give and keep on giving to you and I. Being witness to this day in and day out, has become the best part of my job!"
